Z STREET Charter

Z STREET Charter

Z STREET is an organization of Zionists who join together at this time of great danger to the Jewish State of Israel and, increasingly, to world Jewry.

I. Z STREET proudly asserts the right of the Jewish people to a state.

II. Z STREET proudly reclaims the words “Zionist” and “Jewish State” as ones to wear with pride, and completely rejects their recent branding as shameful or impolite terms.

III. Z STREET maintains that Jews have the right to live anywhere in the world, including, and especially, within all parts of Israel.

IV. Z STREET is dedicated to maintaining and strengthening the Jewish State of Israel and firmly believes that there can be no compromises or agreements with, and no concessions to, any Terrorist Entity or any individual Terrorists.

V. Z STREET is dedicated to rejecting and refuting the condemnation of any actions taken by Israel or Israelis that are not similarly condemned when taken by any other individuals or political entities.

VI. Z STREET is dedicated to constantly and consistently declaring and affirming the facts which fully support the legal, moral and historical right of the Jewish State to exist in peace and security without physical or verbal assault against its sovereignty or legitimacy as well as revealing the fallacious narratives which undermine those rights.  This necessarily entails adamantly opposing the dismantling of and/or handing over territory to any other entity or entities.

VII. Z STREET insists that terrorist or other threats against Israel be unequivocally condemned and that those members of the world community failing to do so be identified as supporters of a second genocide against the Jewish people.

VIII. Z STREET declares that Israel’s respect for women’s, religious and other minorities’ rights, provides a welcome example of civilized behavior – particularly in the Middle East – to be acknowledged and respected by all people of good will.

IX. Z STREET, recognizes that the world does not challenge the religious status of 22 officially Muslim countries and 19 officially Christian countries, while only Israel, the Jewish State, is demonized for asserting its legitimate right to be a religion-affiliated State, and which religion, Judaism, is the world’s oldest monotheistic faith.

X. Z STREET recognizes the value of other Zionist organizations whose activities include lobbying, producing publications, sponsoring scholars, honoring generous donors and/or other important programs. Z STREET is not intended to supersede those other Zionist organizations.  Z STREET is intended to serve as an alternative to many mainstream and other Jewish organizations that, to meet donors’ requirements or for ideological reasons, cannot affirm the principles set out in the Z STREET Charter.

XI. Z STREET has no need to, and will not negotiate with, nor seek to gain the approval from, any governments, Israeli or Diaspora organizations, or individuals supporting the diminution or weakening of Israel either because of ideological conviction, animosity towards a strong, Jewish State, cowardice, or the misguided belief that compromise with Terrorist Entities can lead to peace in the Middle East or global peace.

XII. Z STREET is a new organization of and for individuals who affirm the foregoing and are dedicated to upholding and ensuring respect for those principles.

Was there a country called Palestine or people called the Palestinians?
If you are so sure that “Palestine, the country, goes back through most of recorded history”, I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of “Palestine”:
    1. When was it founded and by whom? 2. What were its borders? 3. What was its capital? 4. What were its major cities? 5. What constituted the basis of its economy? 6. What was its form of government? 7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
    8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation? 9. What was the language of the country of Palestine? 10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine? 11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and try and find the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, British pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date. 12. Have the Palestinians left any artifacts behind?
    13. Do you know of a library where one could find a work of Palestinian literature produced before 1967? 14. And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?
If you are lamenting the “low sinking” of “once proud” nation, then please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over – or thrown out of – the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat by Israel in the 1967Six Day War?

I hope you avoid the temptation to trace the modern day “Palestinians” to the Biblical Philistines: substituting etymology for history won’t work here.

The truth should be obvious to everyone who wants to know it. Arab countries have never abandoned the dream of destroying Israel; they still cherish it today. Having time and again failed to achieve their evil goal through military means, they decided to fight Israel by proxy. For that purpose, they created a terrorist organization, cynically called it “the Palestinian people” and installed it in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria. How else can you explain the refusal by Jordan and Egypt to unconditionally accept back the “West Bank” and Gaza, respectively, in the aftermath of the 1967 war?

The fact is, Arabs populating Gaza, Judea, and Samaria have much less of a claim to nationhood than the American Indian tribe that successfully emerged in Connecticut with the purpose of starting a tax-exempt casino: at least that tribe had a constructive goal that motivated them. The so-called “Palestinians” have only one motivation: the destruction of Israel. In my book that is not sufficient to consider them a “nation” — or anything else — except what they really are: a terrorist organization that will one day be dismantled.

In fact, there is only one way to achieve piece in the Middle East. Arab countries must acknowledge and accept their defeat in their war against Israel and, as the losing side, should pay Israel reparations for the more than 50 years of devastation they have visited upon it. The most appropriate form of such reparations would be the removal of their terrorist organization from the land of Israel and acceptance of Israel’s ancient sovereignty over Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.

That will mark the end of the Palestinian people. What are you saying again was its beginning?

    p.s.
At the time of British Mandate of the region of Palestine, they had Palestinian Brigade. All persons in the Palestinian brigade were “YEHUDIM”.

At that time in Palestine region there was a “Palestine Symphony orchestra”. All members of the Symphony Orchestra were Yehudim.

There was a newspaper called “Palestine Post”, which was and is Yehudi newspaper. Name was changed to “Jerusalem Post”.

So if there is such thing as Palestinian people then they are “Yehudim” or Children of Yisrael. Arab, who lived in the region, always called themselves as Syrian Arabs, Lebanese Arabs, Jordanian Arabs or Egyptian Arabs. Arabs never wanted to call themselves as Palestinian Arabs. This is recent phenomena.

I am a born-again Christian. That’s a true Christian. And we are all with Israel. God’s hand is on you. God told Joshua not to be afraid. Israel does not need to be afraid. Look at recent history. You are outnumbered but have won all the wars. Who can fight against God. islam is of the devil. You cannot appease the devil or muslims. J-Street people are dangerously ignorant. You can only fight them the devil and islam. The devil hates God, and Israel, and Christians, and America. You’re not alone. Obama is NOT Israel’s friend or America’s friend. Beware.

    hi
congratulations on the start of an organization with an excellent charter.

I think the following point should be made and possibly included within your charter (although it is to some extent implicit already): concerns about security and actions required to safeguard security should not be in the hands of politicians. Active security experts (i.e. active military)must determine security necessities without any political interference. Since 1948 Isreali governments have consistently ignored the advice of the military and have as a result allowed the Arabs to declare victory in every miliitary conflict. The Israeli govt. has facilitated by negotiations, by surrender of land and by implicit recognition of the legitimacy of the Arabs’ fallacious claims, the growth of terrorist organizations placing Israel and Jewish lives worldwide under the threat of annihilation. In short, Israeli politicians have gambled with Jewish lives (Peres’ “sacrifices for peace”).

One more point – Manhigut Yehudit shares your principles. Voting for Likud, while Netanyahu is its leader, is not appropriate, but encouraging Israeli Jews to enrol in Likud in order to vote for Feiglin in inner party elections is an act that furthers the goal of Z Street.

    much success

The chutzpah of Obama’s Jewish critics
    Aug. 3, 2009
MARC R. STANLEY , THE JERUSALEM POST

US President Barack Obama and his administration are making an unprecedented

??? – what the heck is he talking about?!

    effort to reach out

    – you mean reach in to our kishkis (intestines)

to the Jewish community. The president has made moving the Middle East toward peace a priority and has spoken

    – “spoken” – a lot has been said about the “unbreakable” bond; the proof is in the pudding!

of the “unbreakable” bond we share with Israel. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons “futile,”

    – “futile”?! – should read unacceptable, intolerable, “over our dead bodies”!

and last week Obama had some of his most senior foreign policy figures meet with top Israeli officials

    – to further pressure the Israelis for more dangerous concessions…

in Israel. Yet, there are still those who leap

    – since when do the New York Times or the Washington Post leap to bash President Obama?! ; so many words have already been forgotten on the subject of the love affair between Obama and mainstream media (excluding FOX).

at any chance to attack the president, including in an op-ed in last week’s The New York Times, “Why Won’t Obama Talk to Israel?” by Aluf Benn.
First, it is important to bring perspective

–for “fair & balanced “perspective – subscribe to FOX!

to the vocal group of individuals

    – the polls demonstrate the number of disapproving “individuals” growing daily.

in our community who remain unhappy with our president. Despite this group’s extraordinary efforts to smear

    – should read: “inform on”…

Obama in the Jewish community during last year’s campaign, the president received 78% of the Jewish vote. The media has much experience overhyping the man-bites-dog Obama-has-a-Jewish-problem story,

    – you must be joking, if only there would be some real coverage depicting the man, his core philosophy and what we were getting into other than “CHANGE-“yes we can”.

but at some point Obama’s actual record

    – is far worse than any of the copy offered, even by FOX. ought to beat out salacious copy.

THE SMALL anti-Obama wing of the Jewish community

    – How small? What are the current numbers? Do you know or are you just bloviating?

has long found refuge in Web sites like American Thinker, where their fictional – now who is living in la la land?! understanding of the presidency is confirmed (a representative title: “Obama’s hostility to Israel is clear”).

    – Mr. Stanley, you are absolutely correct; why waste space (and upset Al while creating more green house gas) on stating the obvious?

But there are some times when elements of their argument spill into more respectable platforms such as The New York Times and The Washington Post.

    – i.e. more than Huffington Post, Daily Cos, Move-On etc. and just a smudge!

One can’t get past the title of Benn’s op-ed in the NYTimes without being struck by the question he poses: “Why won’t Obama talk to Israel?” Benn asserts that “neither the president nor any senior administration official has given a speech or an interview aimed at an Israeli audience.”

    – Aluf Benn whom has supported Obama in his Op Eds was even more disappointed than most Israeli realist folks that there wasn’t even a pretence to address Israeli/Jewish concerns and fears

He then dramatically writes, “The Arabs got the Cairo speech; we [Israel] got silence.”

    – … and so now Obama finally rose to the occasion to aid (but not cure) Aluf’s typical “Peace Now” dissonance syndrome.

Beyond the notion that Obama happened

    – as in – Neville Chamberlain just “happened” to send Lord Halifax to meet Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Goering in Germany.

just to be standing in front of an Arab audience, it is hard to understand how Benn misses the fact that Obama was not only speaking to the people in the room. In this digital world with the power of the Internet and a 24/7 news cycle, the president was addressing all of us – including Israel.

    – you bet, and he was heard loud and clear around the globe!

This was especially true when the president spoke clearly and powerfully

    – the local audience as well as the Arab World at large perceived anything but “power” even the left wing Guardian said: “that this American president has been more critical of his own country while on foreign soil than any American president in history”.
Obama white-washed Arab/Muslim belligerency over the centuries and absolved them of responsibility for their actions and predispositions. Well, after all 14 mil. Jews decided to pick a fight with 200 million Arabs and 1 billion Muslims.

about America’s unbreakable bond with Israel

    – and America’s ability to “deliver” Israel and save those Israelis from themselves.

in front of that Arab audience. The message to Israelis was clear: You do your part for peace

    – a “piece of what?!

and I’ll pressure the Arab states to do the same.

    – i.e. pressure the Arab States to accept Jewish sacrifices in piecemeal fashion.

Meaning, Obama is not going to rely on the political playbook of platitudes

    – No, Obama actually means to serve us up to his Arab spectators, the E.U. and anyone else that would like a “piece” of us.

when dealing with Israel and her neighbors.
If Benn did not hear that Obama aimed elements of his Cairo speech at Israelis, he was not listening

    – Benn was listening, I was listening, we were all listening, and you heard what you wanted to hear!
As far back as the Jewish bondage in Egypt there were Jews that heard what they wanted to hear, act on it and attempt to spread their convoluted perception of reality.

What may speak louder than Obama’s words are his actions

    – agreed!.

As the ink of Benn’s op-ed was drying, the president sent Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, National Security Advisor Gen. Jim Jones and Middle East Special Envoy George Mitchell to talk

    – you mean: cajole, coax with their Israeli counterparts.

They spoke about issues ranging from US policy against Iranian nuclear proliferation to the continuing strategic partnership

    – “we command – you conform”

between our governments. We now see numerous media reports reflecting the reality that this administration will couple any settlement deal with sharp pressure on the Arab world to normalize

    – What’s “normal”? Who’s “normal” – should we adopt Muslim norms of sanctifying death? Come closer to appreciating their misogyny? Do they demonstrate civility towards each other according to your yard stick, Mr. Stanley? To Mr. Obama’s?
Healthy relationships between state entities are based first and foremost on mutually accepting each other’s right to exist and then on a mutual respect for each other’s history and cultures – not denying these fundamentals! These acceptations must be 1st internalized and such respect can not be coerced.
    relations with the Jewish state.

    – A genuine ally would make it clear to the global audience that we the Jews are here (in Biblical Israel) to stay! A genuine ally would endorse our historical deed on our land and will never be swayed on that point.

NO ONE can credibly claim Obama and his administration are not talking

    – talking DOWN t to Israel.

The reality is the administration is not only talking with Israelis, it is intensely collaborating and communicating with it- in person. In fact, Obama spoke with – berated, threatened Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu face-to-face about settlement growth. This administration is talking with Israel about the wide range of policies on which we

    – ??? Mr. Stanley, who is “we”- as a Jew, what does Israel mean to you?

agree – and those precious few areas on which we disagree.

    – so bottom line where there is a conflict of interests, which no doubt there are – shucks, that always happens when a 3rd party attempts to play both other sides against (approx.) the middle – who’s interests should prevail from the Jewish perspective? Will President Obama’s administration respect the sacrosanct sovereignty to actually act in the best interests of a Jewish Israel? Will it try to recruit Jews like you and Mr. Emanuel to forgo our vital interests?

Benn went on to attack some of Obama’s most senior advisers, who also happen to be Jewish. “[T]he president has fallen under the influence of top aides – in this case Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod – whom the prime minister has called ‘self-hating Jews,'” he wrote. That may be a compelling anecdote, especially since the daily Haaretz, for which Benn is the editor at large, broke that story. The only problem is that it isn’t true. Netanyahu’s spokesman denied those remarks and said, “The prime minister never spoke those words.”

    – so many of us Jews actually hope that PM Netanyahu did utter those words!
One Jew should always be able to tell another Jew squarely to her/his face: “you are hurting me; your actions are inflicting pain and undue stress – cease and desist! – I am telling that to you, Mr. Stanley!

I understand that we in the Jewish community can be a bit paranoid at times, but to say that this administration does not support and communicate with one of our closest allies – define your concept of ally! For me it means an entity that one can rely on, not be undermined by… is to disregard reality. Obama, his pro-Israel policies

    – if there are any, they are not by design, only Obama expediency!

    and the president’s pro-Israel advisers

    – name one!

continue to receive strong support in the Jewish community

    – do you refer to Americans that have Jewish blood flowing in their veins? A genuine Jew/Jewish community at heart, recognizes the role of Israel in being Jewish and practicing Judaism. By definition being Jewish and aspiring for strong sovereign Israel are linked because ultimately Yisrael is the only true home a Yid has and where a Jew intends to return to when circumstances allow. So how can a genuine Jew not put Israel first and foremost? Would any human act in a way that destroys their own home?

This administration has made an unprecedented effort to engage this community

    – yes a dangerous kind of engagement for us Jews

and has placed Middle East peace
    – i.e. more Jewish sacrifices high

    on the agenda.
The long-term security of Israel will only be fully ensured if peace is achieved.

    – The security of Israel comes from one source alone – basic Judaism – from the Almighty. The blessing of Jews living in peace with their neighbors is granted or denied by G-d. We must justify any blessing from G-d by adhering to the tenets spelled out for us in the book of life granted to the Jews by G-d. Offering what is only on deposit in our generation is contrary to G-d’s word – obviously the wrong way to achieve security.
Over our history Am Yisrael has suffered from enough like you, Mr. Stanley – you are a misguided Jew whom is trying to infect others with your perversions and that certainly does not lend to a safe Isreal.
If you care about your soul and mine, may I suggest you turn to you local orthodox rabbi and consult him on what Eretz Yisrael really means.

Obama has made clear that the road is difficult, but the president is working hard to make that day come. However, there will still be those with the undying chutzpah
    – if you mean a stiff willed people; a compliment and blessing- see we are still around after all that try to annihilate us!

    to attack

    – to observe that

the president for not being sufficiently supportive of Israel. I urge them to actually listen to what the president is saying and watch what he is doing – they might be surprised.

Obama recognizes tghe legitimacy of the ARabs’ demands which are false. Only fools believe that negotiations and land for peace will lead to peace. All the evidence suggests otherwise. The Arabs are clear and consistent in their objective of eradicating Israel. And even if there is some hope of peace thru negotiations (which there is not) efforts in this direction, until they bear fruit, require more sacrifices of Jewish lives. Doesn’t anyone care about that?

This is part of Israel’s declaration of Independence. We stand by it:

“Accordingly we, members of the People’s Council, representatives of the Jewish Community of Eretz-Israel and of the Zionist Movement, are here assembled on the day of the termination of the British Mandate over Eretz-Israel and, by virtue of our natural and historic right and on the strength of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, hereby declare the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz-Israel, to be known as the State of Israel.”

  9. Stephen Asbel on

How about a definition of “Land of Israel.” The Land of Israel extends east of the Jordan River including the Jordan Valley and the plains of Gilad. The pre-state Zionist leadership acquiesced to slicing off the eastern lands in the partition of 1922 to become part of the Emirate of Transjordan.
BTW, in the Feisal-Weizman agreement which was never implemented (due to French and British machinations), the Jewish state would have included land east of the Jordan River while Emir Feisal of the Hashemites would have ruled over what is now Syria, Lebanon, the remainder of what is now Jordan and Iraq. The French refused to let Feisal into Damascus to set up his new kingdom and the deal collapsed.
