Z STREET CHARTER

Z STREET is an organization of Zionists who join together at this time of great danger to the Jewish State of Israel and, increasingly, to world Jewry.

I. Z STREET proudly asserts the right of the Jewish people to a state.

II. Z STREET proudly reclaims the words “Zionist” and “Jewish State” as ones to wear with pride, and completely rejects their recent branding as shameful or impolite terms.

III. Z STREET maintains that Jews have the right to live anywhere in the world, including, and especially, within greater Israel.

IV. Z STREET is dedicated to maintaining and strengthening the Jewish State of Israel and firmly believes that there can be no compromises or agreements with, and no concessions to, any Terrorist Entity or any individual Terrorists.

V. Z STREET is dedicated to rejecting and refuting the condemnation of any actions taken by Israel or Israelis that are not similarly condemned when taken by any other individuals or political entities.

VI. Z STREET is dedicated to constantly and consistently declaring and affirming the facts which fully support the legal, moral and historical right of the Jewish State to exist in peace and security without physical or verbal assault against its sovereignty or legitimacy.  This necessarily entails adamantly opposing the dismantling of and/or handing over territory to any other entity or entities.

VII. Z STREET is dedicated to constantly and consistently declaring and affirming the facts that reveal the fallacious narratives of Terrorist Entities, Terrorists, and their supporters undermining the legal, moral and historical right of the Jewish State to exist in peace and security without physical or verbal assault against its sovereignty or legitimacy.

VIII. Z STREET insists that terrorist or other threats against Israel be unequivocally condemned and that those members of the world community failing to do so be identified as supporters of a second genocide against the Jewish people.

IX. Z STREET declares that Israel’s respect for women’s, religious and other minorities’ rights, provides a welcome example of civilized behavior – particularly in the Middle East – to be acknowledged and respected by all people of good will.

X. Z STREET, recognizes that the world does not challenge the religious status of 22 officially Muslim countries and 30 officially Christian countries, while only Israel, the Jewish State, is demonized for asserting its legitimate right to be a religion-affiliated State, and which religion, Judaism, is the world’s oldest monotheistic faith.

XI. Z STREET recognizes the value of other Zionist organizations whose activities include lobbying, producing publications, the sponsorship of scholars and scholarship centers, honoring generous donors and/or other important programs.  Z STREET is not intended to supersede those other Zionist organizations.  Z STREET is intended to serve as an alternative to many mainstream and other Jewish organizations that, to meet donors’ requirements or for ideological reasons, cannot affirm the principles set out in the Z STREET Charter.

XII. Z STREET has no need to, and will not negotiate with, nor seek to gain the approval from, any governments, Israeli or Diaspora organizations, or individuals supporting the diminution or weakening of Israel either because of ideological conviction, animosity towards a strong, Jewish State, cowardice, or the misguided belief that compromise with Terrorist Entities can lead to peace in the Middle East or global peace.

XIII. Z STREET will serve as an educational force that will FIGHT WITH FACTS.  Z STREET undergirds its positions with facts which provide that essential ingredient to exponentially increasing its membership ranks.

XIV. Z STREET is a new, entirely volunteer organization for those who affirm the foregoing and dedicate themselves to upholding and ensuring respect for these principles.  Its primary purpose of which is to provide a proud banner for Zionists behind which to rally.

    Mazal tov on Z-street.

    Several thoughts…

I would suggest changing “Terrorist Entity” to something like “Terrorist Group” as this would remove the parallel construction that our enemies employ…”Zionist Entity.”

While I think it is great to promote a point of view about Israel (and I do), I get a little uneasy telling the govt. what to do while not living in Israel. In actuality, if more Jews move to Israel (let’s say, a million) that support keeping Israel a Jewish majority, that will have much more impact on influencing the govt., Israeli citizens, and the world, than blogs and protests ‘chutz l’aretz.’ Unfortunately, most of us are too comfortable in our lives to become a 21st ‘chalutz.’

None the less, keep trucking on Z Street.

    Hi,

In the Charter, it seems #XIII is badly worded. You might wanna review it and make the necessary changes. Isn’t it “undergirdS?” and the next line should be plural.

      Thanks for pointing those out!

Thank you for starting this proactive zionist group. Appeasement is not the answer to Israels problems and we need more Jews to support Israel and to forget about kowtowing to the Obama administration. Please put me on your email list when developed.

Am Yisrael Chai. Finally, an answer to George Soros’s J Street (a division of MoveOn.org). Kol hakavod! Sign me up!

I salute Z Street for standing up unapologetically for the legitimacy of Israel! Finally, there is a forum for truth; those who deny it have their own agenda based on ignorance or
    politics.

Congratulations to the founders of “Z” Street; you get an “A” for initiative and creativity.
Looking forward to your continued success; we are with you!!

    Some comments:

Preaching to the choir isn’t useful.
Exposing the lies of those who would damage Israel is.

What can ordinary citizens who strongly disagree with the position of the current administration do to be most effective within the American system of governance?

I would hope this site is moderated and will display little tolerance for anti-Semites and other provocateurs.

One thing Americans need to be constantly reminded of is:
“What has Israel done for us lately”. The contrast between Israeli contributions to the US and the world in medicine, pharmaceuticals, computers, technology, agriculture, and music is massive, and compared with the minuscule contributions of the Palestinians and most other Arab states, would be a prima facie statement of US interests if not for the failure of Hasbara and the propaganda of Israel’s enemies and their friends. One good use for this site would be to list the latest, new contributions as time passes.

Oil isn’t everything and economists have long proven that oil prices are driven by markets and demand, not politics.

I am one of 8 on a steering committee in the Triangle Area of NC where leftist Jews outnumber the possums and are led by a prominent Rabbi (of Brit Tzedek fame). We have set out of form a local organization now named “Voice for Israel.” Our plans include raising money, giving programs (we hope to have Daniel Gordis in the Spring) and turning out for rallies (we have done one already) and sharing ideas. We did not consider forming a national blog as you have brilliantly done (congratulation!). We are looking for partner organizations. Perhaps parternering with a Blog site is not the right answer. But since we are hoping to find a national organization, I wonder if you have plans beyond blogging such as your counter J-Street Rally in Washington. Do you plan to structure yourself like J Street, recognizing that they have Soros to help fund them.

      Sincerely,

        Robert,

We do not think of ourselves as a blog site but as an activist organization that uses the internet to spread messages, ideas, combat positions, etc. The more those in the Ziosphere support each other the better! We will not be structured like J Street, not only because it is funded by an endless pit of money, but more importantly because we are a horizontal, not hierarchical organization and our m.o. will be providing a global forum for action, not the distribution of pre-packaged messages from those at the top who are beholden to those with the bank (both of which include those without a heart, or at least a heart for our homeland.)

This is brilliant! Congratulations and all the best with this important effort.

How long until the MSM starts the effort to ensure Z Street is marginalized, by referring to Z Street as hardline, far right-wing, ultranationalist, anti-peace, pro-settler and pro-occupation, with the implicit message to its readers that this is an extremist group to be weary of…

    • Lori Lowenthal Marcus on

Well, they will have some of it right: we are hard-line, right-wing, nationalist, and pro-suburbanite, but we are not preoccupied with the false occupation delusion. And we think all those things are good. And we won’t be marginalize if all like-minded folks join in!!
